Antique Victorian two row bracelet made of Sciacca coral in rare salmon orangey-red colour.

Sliding box clasp with small brass chain and two coral beads.

Period: 1880-1900s

Condition: Very Good. Light scratches throughout metal.

This type of coral, discovered in early 1900s, existed in only one place in the world, Island Sciacca, near Sicily.

In 1950s, its mining was restricted, due to the exhaustion of the species population.

That is why, jewelry made of Sciacca corals is deemed to be especially rare and valuable.
